The UK Blawg Roundup #9 is out! via @ShireenSmith

Excusing the paper.li-like appearance of the title of this post, it’s great to see the UK Blawg Roundup #9 being published by Shireen Smith. In traditional blawg review form, Shireen takes a very comprehensive look at the blawging landscape in the UK at the moment, with a particular focus on the Legal Services Act and Alternative Business Structures. This follows on from Victoria Moffatt’s UK Blawg Roundup #8 with a focus on “Change”.

Good to see best wishes for Michelle.L.Hynes’ (aka LegalEagleMHM’s) speedy recovery at the start of the post and mirrored by Mike Scutt at UKBlawgRoundup.co.uk. Good to see blawgers sticking together! Michelle has posted an update on Twitter as I write this – good to hear.

WardBlawg receives a nice mention in Roundup #9 which is appreciated given the lack of writing on the blawg about the LSA and ABS (although I do maintain a keen interest in the area):-

While Gav Ward does not write about the Legal Services Act, he does write about Social Media.  This is a topic to watch out for if you’re trying to work out what impact the Legal Services Act might have on the legal profession.  Gav was quick to comment on the recent Law Society social media policy [ https://wardblawg.com/2011/12/28/who-owns-a-twitter-follower-noah-kravitz-sued-by-phonedog-for-340000/ ].  If you agree with me that social media is going to have a disruptive effect on the legal services industry (as it is already having on many other industries), then you’ll want to read Gav’s blog as it will doubtless cover developments of interest to the legal community.

Good also to see Highland Lawyer’s new blawg at http://highlandlawyer.wordpress.com/ receiving a mention. Having followed him on Twitter for some time now and having met him IRL in Glasgow last year, I highly recommend subscribing to his updates. You’ll learn a lot!

There are many great blawgs from some of the UK’s legal thought-leaders also mentioned in the roundup and I’d recommend readers check them out and add them to your blogroll today.

For all updates on UK Blawg Roundups see http://www.ukblawgroundup.co.uk/.

All the best,

Gavin Ward

PS looking forward to meeting some of the blawgers listed at tomorrow night’s #tweetinglegal tweetup in London.
